  2. Salam,

What is the grading of this version of the last dua, containing "zuljalal e wal ikraame"

    Taken from www.duas.org:

Imam Baqir (a.s.) says One who sits quietly after each mandatory prayer and recites 3 times the following , Allah will pardon all his sins:

“I seek forgiveness from the Lord (testifying) There is no God other than Him The Living and the Everlasting Of Majesty and Splendour And I turn to Him In Repentence!

”Astaghfarallah allazi la ilaha illa huwal hayyal qayyumo zuljalal e wal ikraame wa aatube ilaihi

  3. Salamu Alaikom

    This is a wonderful post.

I am concerned about one issue though.

This post does not distinguish between Istighfar and Tawbah. If I do understand properly, there is a distinction.

It seems in one hadith the word "اسْتَغْفَرَ" is translated to Tawbah, and in another hadith the word "تَابَ" is translated to Tawbah.

Could you please clarify this issue?

  4. Wa `Alaykum Assalaam,

Thank you for pointing out my mistake, that was a little bit of me rushing through this post. Thank you again, I have made the corrections where they are necessary.

According to the aHaadeeth, the Imaam has used the word "taab" and "istighfaar" in order for the person's evil deed not to be written down, so the Imaam hasn't distinguished between the two.

Also, as you can see in both the du`aas the word "istighfaar" and "taab" have been used.

  5. These are one of the reasons why I put Arabic and English up on each one of my blog posts. Not only to give the readers some sort of certainty on where it is coming from, but also if I have made a mistake in translating other people can pick it out.

  6. Salaam Brother,

I was reading some of your older posts, and I encountered this one.
I noticed the very first hadeeth is graded as Saheeh by Majlisi.
    ( Al-Kulayni, Al-Kaafi, vol. 2, pg. 429 – 430, hadeeth # 4)

But in its sanad is فضل بن عثمان المرادي who seems to be majhool.
Did Majlisi make a mistake? or am I missing something?

    Thank you

    Wassalamu Alaikom
